Brunello di Montalcino Bramante 2005

 Brunello di Montalcino Bramante 2005

The vintage of 2005 was marked by a good general climate but there were a few events were particularly traumatic. There was a bad hail storm at the beginning of May, and intense rains in September caused concern about the harvest. However, the summer was fairly hot and sunny, and after the first rainy half of September the weather turned fine again and allowed the grapes to dry and ripen. The Sanlorenzo vineyards produced a smaller quantity but the quality was good. The harvest took place on 10 and 11 October.
From the best grapes of the vineyards of Sanlorenzo and the perfect fusion of territory, vines, and cantina, is born Bramante, a grandly elegant Brunello di Montalcino with an intense capacity
for expressing itself best over time. Vinified in steel vats at controlled temperatures, it is then aged for 3 years in wooden barrels with a capacity from 30-35 hectolitres. After bottling it is allowed to rest for at least 6 months before being ready to be placed on the market. After five years Bramante’s various perfumes and aromas have blended into a captivating medley. Dark garnet red, with a generous nose, it has aromas of dried flowers, spices, and ripe fruits. The impact on the palette is instantly extremely pleasant, with a good structure and tannins of exemplary extraction. It finishes long.
